Used by most, if not all, of our ancestors to express, expand, and share information. Telling us the stories of our past, echoing wisdom of truth and knowledge to our little ones. Telling us of brave heroes and warriors in rebellions fighting for our freedom. Sharing the flow and duality of life, reminding us of all things possible, within and around us. Like the stories told by your mother at bedtime, cave drawings were the first form of stories ever told. Stories that can’t be easily erased but aged and developed gracefully over time, now in museums as a reminder of what was. Like all great things art developed over time into something more, a way to expand our imagination as well as our minds.
Creativity was never meant to be kept in a box, true creativity is pure chaos, its experimental at its finest. It showcases vulnerabilities, passions, and tugs at the heart cords creating a full sensory experience for the beholder. This type of artistry can show the joyful expressions of art as well as the hidden misery within our humanity. Art can provoke both painful and joyful emotions dependent on the artists creative vision for the piece. It’s a way of sharing our feelings, our visions, and experiences. It’s a way of sharing and connecting with each other, especially those who may feel alone. To show others there will always be new possibilities, ideas, and visions to create. Nothing will ever stay the same forever.
Art has evolved beyond cave finger markings centuries ago for good reason. We’ve grown, discovered, and changed just as our basic understand of our existence has. We have the luxury now more than ever of self-expression and discovery. We can be creative of all kind’s sculptors, poets, painters, musicians, writers, etc. Almost anything can become an art form with the right artistic vision and creativity. The world is literally at our fingertips and advancements of the future are fueled by creative wonder and imagination. Art is the future, it’s our souls’ expressions, and it’s so much more than sound, shapes, and colors. Its intuitive and chaotic, it’s the freedom to be.
Modern art is always in the era of evolving, just as we are. It’s not about perfectionism or profitability. It’s about creating a new vision, a new sound from our own authenticity. Being real and vulnerable with the world but more importantly open to share our truth and authenticity without fear. But also, able to listen and observe others with the same love and acceptance. Together, letting go of the need to compare, judge, and critique others for our different levels of ability or our differences in general. We’re all unique and beautiful in our own ways! So be authentic and true to your own artistic journey, don’t get sucked into the perfectionism box, be wild and messy with your creativity. That’s how great art and music is made, not by following specific guidelines, by allowing yourself to simply be curious and explore!
